Summit between Obama and Putin after Syria talks fail


Holding the US President, Barack Obama, on Monday, the meeting is still going on with his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, on the sidelines of the Group of Twenty summit in China, said the White House, after hours on the two countries' foreign ministers to reach agreement on Syria fails.
A spokesman for the US National Security Council, Ned Price, "The President shall participate in an informal meeting with Russian President Putin, and we expect to provide more details about their talks later in the day."
A senior official at the State Department confirmed that a meeting between the US secretaries of state John Kerry and his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov ended Monday without reaching an agreement on Syria, referring to the continuing differences in views between the two sides.
The two ministers met on the sidelines of the summit of the Group of Twenty leaders in east China's Hangzhou City meeting.
And Sunday, the US president announced that, from China, that talks with Russia would be the way to reach any agreement to halt combat operations in Syria, but he revealed that the tough negotiations in the presence of serious differences between Washington and Moscow.
